Alyssa Mohammed is a "Pelican Soaring" being the top 2023 Rhode Scholar from the Commonwealth Caribbean. On November 8th it was announced that she outperformed the other 10 candidates hailing from Barbados, Grenada, Antigua, St Lucia and Trinidad and Tobago.

Alyssa will be the first of her family to receive the opportunity to study overseas, and as  University of West Indies graduate who has a First Class Honours degree in Sociology, she will be heading to Oxford University in October 2023 to further her studies. She will be pursuing a Master of Science (MSc) in Sociology or Master of Law (LLM) in Sociology and Demography with a focus on gender issues.

For David Salmon being named a 2023 Rhode Scholar is a "Dream come Through" . Being selected out of a cohort of 11 candidates his dream that started at age 15 is now is reality. David attained  a bachelor’s degree in Public Policy and Management from The University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona, and was the sole male valedictorian in the graduating class of 2022.
