The UWIAA International Chapters held a powerful and enriching virtual 75th Anniversary event. The esteemed authors embodied Caribbean literary talent, passion, and devotion to the written word and did not disappoint, as the fascinating topic was discussed. As Barbara Brissett, Abeng Management Team member noted, each work “crafted by these talented authors is a brushstroke on the canvas of our rich cultural heritage, painting stories that resonate across borders and generations. Their creativity and ability to transport readers to distant shores and explore the depths of human experience is nothing short of awe-inspiring.”
The discussion explored the stories, experiences, and worlds, created by the authors and led to thoughtful discussions, championed by their Caribbean experiences. This event was a platform for dialogue, a space to shape our Caribbean identity. The writers highlighted their wisdom and inspiration, as well as the universality of human experiences, and the importance of preserving and sharing our unique Caribbean voices.
Dr. Gerald White-Davis, president of the International Consortium of Caribbean Professionals, and the members of the Abeng Management Team were delighted with the success of the event.
